Michael Robert "Florida Mike" Ward, 49, of Nokomis, passed away on November 10, 2007.

He was born in Alexandria Bay, NY on July 20, 1958. Mike has been a life long resident of Sarasota County, having attended Osprey Elementary and graduating from Riverview Highschool in 1976. He was a proud member of the Sons of Silence Motorcycle Club and was a loving husband and father. He was a Methodist.

Survivors include his wife of 22 years Lori; three sons, Jason Ward of Port Charlotte, Michael Ball of North Dakota and Cody Shivley of Francisville, IN; two daughters, Catherine and Cierra Ward both of Nokomis; two brothers, Richard of Fernandina Beach, FL and Carl of Fairview, NC; two sisters, Cynthia Abbott of Sarasota and Sheila Sheckells of North Port; mother Hilda Ward of North Port; two grandchildren, Riley and Ayva both of Port Charlotte.

He was preceded in death last year by his father Howard Ward.

A memorial gathering will be 2 PM on Saturday, November 17th at the family's residence.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Michael's name at any branch of the Wachovia Bank.
